Paulina Carretero dives into the enigma of Clown, an iconic work by María Izquierdo, to reimagine it through the atmospheres of magical realism.
The character, once confined by a melancholic gesture, now becomes an archetype drifting between worlds. Colors intensify with ritualistic vibration, and the clown’s gaze is no longer sorrowful, but transmutational. There is festivity and mourning, mask and revelation. This is a clown unfolding as a symbol of dual consciousness—between the intimate and the public, the sacred and the theatrical.
